What do yo know about Lipari


The largest and most populated of the Aeolian Islands is Lipari and the only one of the seven islands of this volcanic archipelago that something really in the way of industry. pumice mines carved pieces of the mountain in the past, but mining has now thankfully been banned by UNESCO of the threats the Aeolian Islands could lose their World Heritage status because of this destructive industry.



Lipari is ready for foreign visitors more than other Aeolian Islands. The only way the tourism industry has had a negative impact on the island in the tourist tat on sale in the main town. Lipari town has many historic buildings, quaint and charming streets, flower-hung and alleys. Pottering around the city and relax in the nice port is a great way to spend some time. The Acropolis is a nice place for history lovers, the citadel castle headland and the cathedral. An archaeological museum within the castle walls tells you all the fascinating past of this island. 

Do not forget to visit the Terme di San Calogero, when you be in Lipari . There are hot springs that have been used for bathing for thousands of years, and also the Memory Museum, which are houses collections that tell the story of the Aeolian Islands history, culture and economy. If you really want to take a bath in the hot springs, you have to jump a fence, as some locals.

The island of Lipari is also good for wanders. Walk to the top of the northern tip of Lipari. Monte Rosa is a pleasant place to walk, and offers beautiful views of the city of Lipari and the second city of the island of Canneto. Another excellent foot and a highlight of the rugged coast of Lipari is the path section between the hot springs and the quarry at Bagnosecco .

After walking around this beautiful island, you can eat a nice meal t and not at one of the restaurants in the town of Lipari, which generally serve Italian food of good quality.So take your time when you visit the island and enjoy with all of these advantages.
